About me

My name is Chandra Dunitz

“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” — Audrey Hepburn

Planting a sustainable garden is an act of love, a legacy of care, and a safe harbor for the birds, bees, and butterflies, which will find their way to the bounty you have provided.

I  use sustainable garden practices to build habitats for wildlife that require less work, allowing you more time to experience the joy of watching the wide variety of butterflies and birds that will come.

To that end, I select plants, according to your specific garden conditions, that will provide pollen, nectar, seeds, or berries for both year-round garden residents and those just passing through on their way to their winter homes.

I have planted in plots as tiny as three square feet, whenever and wherever possible since childhood, flowers, vegetables, vines, shrubs, and trees have all found homes whenever I could lay my hands on a trowel. I also have a Sustainable Garden Design certification from the New York Botanical Garden.

“My garden is my most beautiful masterpiece.” — Claude Monet
